"I have been blessed with numerous successes in my lifetime, but no accomplishment will ever cause me to forget where I came from. It's my deep respect for my roots and for the struggles of others that inspires my campaign for public office."

Carter Announces Fundraising Success

Terry Carter (R-Brunswick) announces fundraising success to date for his campaign for State Senate, District 3.

In a campaign disclosure report filed yesterday, Terry Carter showed that he had raised $51,000.00.

Said Carter, "It is an honor to have tremendous support from people across Senate District 3. The people of this district understand that we are facing a deficit of leadership in the State Senate. And the people of this district want leadership, and that is why they are rallying around my campaign."

Continued Carter, "We have been cheated by Jeff Chapman. Another session has gone by and Jeff has, once again, failed in addressing the concerns of this district. Jeff is just part of the problem with the dysfunction and disunity of our State Government-more posturing, press releases and obstruction than any real leadership…

…Jeff's failure is so apparent through his lack of leadership and lack of accomplishment. Jeff failed to pass any comprehensive tax reform legislation for our district. He failed to provide tax relief to our families in a time of a struggling economy. And Jeff Chapman failed to pass any legislation on the revitalization of Jekyll Island. Every bill he proposed on Jekyll failed because he cannot get along with his colleagues. Other state officials and Linger Longer (who is developing Jekyll) had more pull on the issue than our obstructionist State Senator. The citizens of Georgia's coast are tired of being cheated by Chapman. I will be a Senator who builds unity and gets the job done when our citizens need action."

Carter has a long history of overcoming the odds and getting things done. Being born to an alcoholic mother and raised by his grandmother in the projects from age 7, Carter faced many hardships. Through hard work and faith, Carter worked his way through school to become a successful businessman and small business owner. And it is his respect of his roots and his understanding of the struggles of others that inspires his campaign for State Senate.

Terry Carter is owner of TGC Properties in Glynn County. A native Georgian, Terry Carter is a graduate of Georgia's public schools and of Shorter College where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Carter, 43, and his wife, Theresa reside in Glynn County. They are the proud parents of three children, William (10), Savina (8), and Marin (5). The Carter's are active members of First Baptist Church of Brunswick, where Terry serves as a deacon.
